My dog really enjoyed the book. He thoroughly digested the information.Seriously, the book was great. I love Anna Kendrick because she's an awesome, quirky actress that can sing like a boss. Hearing her inner dialogue was super interesting, and surprisingly relatable.
I pre-ordered the book because I was so excited. When it arrived, I didn't want to put it down. Apparently my dog was also excited about the book. I had ONE chapter left, and the jerk ate the last 40 pages. Punk! Good thing he's cute. I had to buy the Kindle version as well so I could finish reading.

Scrappy Little Nobody Anna Kendrick 9781501117206 Books Reviews
If you've seen or read the numerous interviews of Anna Kendrick in the media, the book is a series of longer--and witty--anecdotes of her life so far. That's how she described what she wrote, and that is what she delivers. What impresses me is her eclectic reading habits, which she's had since she was young (even prior to becoming a teenager), and how much she loves reading. There's a lot of intelligence in that scrappy little head.
It's an easy and light reading. Anna Kendrick is funny and inteligent and her narrative flows well, but I think the book could go more deep on some parts. I'm not talking about gossip from famous people — I'm really not into that and I liked that she didn't went for that path — but I would like more details about how she landed some parts in her movie career. Of course, it's more easy to talk than sit down and wrote a memoir, I know that. But if I was her editor I'll suggest her to cut out the whole part about the boat trip in the final third of the book, for instance (I find it very boring). But as I said, I have no regrets. I like Anna kendrick and I also like her book. If you want something fun and surprising relatable to read about someone famous, this book could be for you as just it was for me. Thanks for reading this only passable critic )
So Anna Kendrick is a very real person who is amazingly self-honest and snarky - the best kind of person I know! This book made me smile and nod (Yup, me too) quite often. A great read and I appreciate her talents even more!
This book is completely entertaining, adorable, relate-able, surprising, funny and will make you proud of her generation coming into their own. Kendrick has a way of writing and telling her story that completely engages her audience without lecturing, or selflessly imparting her knowledge onto the lowly reader like other books I have read from older public figures. I highly recommend listening to the audio version of her reading the book. It takes a minute or so to get use to her fast-paced speech and self deprecating intonations, but it adds an authenticity and ups her likability factor even more, if that's possible. There were many times throughout her story that we actually laughed out loud. And, I am currently in search of a tailor to refit all my favorite clothes. Thanks, Anna.
I have read quotes from Anna Kendrick that are insightful and funny so I was interested in reading her memoir. It was quite interesting. Her writing style is just like how she talks, with sly humor and self deprecating stories. It literally made me laugh out loud more than once.
I have enjoyed her in several movies Twilight franchise and Pitch Perfect to name a few, but I had no idea that she has been doing this since she was a child. She talks about the nitty gritty of theater and movie work. The insane work schedules and the pathetic pay when she started out. This is defiantly worth checking out.
I have finished the book. Mind you, I mostly listened to her audio version in the car on my long drive for work. Thank God I did. It was so entertaining. I have the hard copy and audio for it. I have to say that the audio does the book way more justice because we get her full on personality while she is reading. She hits the funny parts perfectly and the awkward parts. I'd recommend having both versions to really get all you can from the book. It's perfect for long car rides. I can totally relate to her short jabs at herself and looking way yonger than I should. Like her, I've learn to embrace it.
It was just... meh. I think she’s incredibly witty and that showed in the book. But, I didn’t finish this book feeling like I learned anymore about who she is — i mean, why else do you buy an autobiography. I personally feel it lacked depth. It needed more vulnerability. It took me a few months to finish it because i couldn’t force myself to read more than a little at a time.
My dog really enjoyed the book. He thoroughly digested the information.
