I simply could not put this book down. I finished it in just over 24 hours. I should mention, with two small children at the beach. That is how good this book is. I read whenever and however I could sneak it in. I could not wait to find out what happened from one chapter to the next. The way the two characters have been seemlessly Connected is amazing to watch unfold. Both characters are Fantastic and wanted to know more and more about them. I can not recommend this book enough. I have read both of the authors previous books and am just a huge fan of her work as well.

I enjoyed the first half of the book, but the ending was a bit too contrived. It's not a book that I would recommend to friends.
An interesting read with good characters. I never knew that there was such a thing as Miss Subway. The ending was a little super sweet, though...
I enjoyed how the author intertwined the lives of two characters in different time periods; very comfortable read. Enjoyed reading about the "real" subway girls.
It was a nice story, but a bit formulaic and predictable. The writing was ok, but I would like to see the author become a bit more sophisticated.
I loved the time period as I love historical fiction, It was a little too predictable for me but someone else may love it.
The book is a light and easy read. Very entertaining as it switches between 2 time periods, Post WWII and modern times. A slightly fluffy take on "We've come a long way baby" but compelling none the less. I would recommend the book.
I really enjoyed this book. I grew up in New York City and remember the Miss Subways campaigns. I remember seeing their posters in the subway cars. So, when I heard about this book, my curiosity was piqued. It is a light, entertaining read, in which the stories of two women are intertwined. One woman's story dates back to 1949, while the other is a contemporary, present day one. Different generations, but similar struggles, in worlds with different social mores, yet, the more things change, the more they stay the same.
